In December of last year, we hosted an event to explore Social Justice Union Organizing. Since then, Vermont School Workers United (VSWU) was formed. VSWU is a statewide network building school workers' power to defend against national and state level attacks on public education, and to fight for the excellent and equitable public schools and public school jobs we and our communities need and deserve.
Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 12th, 5-6pm as we learn from VSWU about building worker power in schools. Register here. Building a powerful teacher workforce is especially important in this moment to defend public schools and continue to push for education justice. You don't have to be an educator to attend because powerful union organizing means working alongside students, families, and communities.
We’ll be learning about and discussing the ways social justice union organizing can help us protect our communities from right-wing attacks. We’ll end the evening by applying what we learn to the Vermont context and the current political moment.
