Narratives for Change Organizing Meeting

Register now!

This fall, the Vermont Agency of Education is re-writing their official Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying Policy, a key policy that is meant to support youth who experience harm in schools. Last month, we co-hosted an event with Outright Vermont for students and family members who have been directly impacted by hazing, harassment, or bullying. We came together to ensure the voice of those impacted are centered in any policy changes. That group created six demands.

Now that we have demands, we need to organize around them! We are co-hosting an organizing meeting with Outright Vermont on Monday, November 10th 5:00-6:00pm.  Register here.

We will have three breakout rooms for folks to plug into:

  • Press - developing a press conference or another type of opportunity to share our stories and demands with the media.

  • Hazing Bullying and Harassment Council - developing a plan to get as many voices as possible to the HHB council meetings. There will be a meeting in November.

  • Letter Writing / Form Feedback - Developing a plan for folks to fill out this form with feedback and write letters to key stakeholders to make these changes happen.

Join us on Nov. 10th 5-6pm. This event is open to folks who have been directly impacted and allies who want to advocate for folks who have been directly impacted. Spread the word! We must lift up the voices of impacted students and families and push collectively to make changes to the Agency of Education model policy for Hazing, Bullying and Harassment.
