Train-the-Trainer: Empowering Youth to address Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying

As part of the Statewide Youth Gathering organized by EdJ, which will take place on April 11th from 9:00am to 3:00pm at Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee. The Coalition for Transforming School Safety has come together to offer a train-the-trainer that includes three workshops to empower youth to organize and learn how to address bullying and harassment in their schools.

The purpose of this train-the-trainer is to provide youth the necessary tools and language to lead trainings at their schools. We welcome students directly impacted by bullying and harassment as well as allies who want to make change on this issue in their school. We are hoping that 20 students will join us in this PAID leadership opportunity. Participants will be compensated $100 for attending the training and will receive $200 in addition to support presentations back at their school.

The workshops will cover 1) bystander intervention, 2) know your rights, and 3) advocacy initiatives in schools. Youth chosen to participate will join all three workshops to have the most impact in their schools.
