How to Build a Strong Coalition: Spotlight on MEJA

Join us as we hear and learn from the Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance (MEJA) on Wednesday, April 8th 5-6pm. MEJA will provide an overview of their work and how you are structured with time for questions.

The Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance is a coalition of organizations led by students, parents, educators, school staff, and concerned community members who are directly affected by public education in Massachusetts. They are committed to elevating student and parent voices, in collaboration with educators, school and college staff, and unions, on racial equity issues.

Their key issues:

  • Fully fund public education

  • Secure a once in a generation opportunity for sustainable funding

  • Provide debt-free public higher education

  • Less testing, more learning

  • Demand living wage and paid family & medical leave for all workers

  • Ensure educators & staff have a voice at work

  • End the school-to-prison pipeline

  • Build a movement for racial justice
