Hands Off Our Students Walkout

Join the Hands Off Our Students Walkout! We must act now because we believe in equitable and inclusive schools during a time in which schools and marginalized communities are under attack. Schools and students need your support, as we believe in:

  1. We deserve the chance to learn

    • Keep “DEI” Curriculum - All stories deserve to be told and taught in school.

  2. We deserve to speak and be heard

  3. We deserve human rights, dignity, and respect

  4. We deserve the right to be ourselves and to decide that for ourselves

  5. We deserve to keep our schools for us and by us (public and democratic)

    • Keep ICE & Border Patrol out of schools! (Support Statewide Sanctuary Schools Bills)

  6. We demand change to make it possible

People can approach this action differently, as this action is one of inclusion and involvement. Whatever your strengths, there is a role for you!

You can: post on social media, make art, lead a chant, provide food, and more!

More resources can be found in this toolkit which includes: graphics, role descriptions, conversation guides, and introductory info.

Schools are invited to participate Wednesday May 21st or the week of May 19th and can choose the exact date and time that works for your school. This is an action that you can take part in as an individual, or as a group. We are powerful together, which is why students of Vermont are working across the state to make our demands known.

Are you ready to join us?

Please fill out this form to confirm your action.
