Inclusive and Equitable Teaching Practices - Professional Development Curriculum

Bring the updated Education Quality Standards to educators in your school with our new professional development curriculum

What are the updated Education Quality Standards?

In 2019 a law called Act 1 was passed that created a diverse state Working Group to review our state Educational Quality Standards to ensure they were inclusive, equitable, and representative of all students. The Vermont Education Quality Standards are a broad set of standards about what we believe schools should be and how they should serve students. In the summer of 2022 the Act 1 Working Group completed their revised version of the EQS standards. You can see the newly revised EQS standards here and a plain language version here. The Teaching Practices is one section of this updates.

More about our course:

  • You can partner with Vermont State University to support your educators to earn graduate credit (see the graduate course syllabus here)

  • Our course is rooted in a rubric that reviews all the updated teaching practices and supports educators to assess where they are and where they are headed in their professional learning and practice.

  • We plan to offer an affordable training so that educator leaders can be trained to facilitator this professional development curriculum in their school or district. Sign up here to learn more!
