Protect Vermont Public Education Legislative Outreach Day
We want all Vermont children to have access to high-quality education. We know that Vermont’s public education funding system needs an overhaul, but the plan proposed by Secretary Saunders does not center the needs of children across the state.
We are calling on VT-NEA members, students, caregivers, and community members to email or call your state representative to say no to Saunders’ plan and to say yes to a plan that 1) protects our most vulnerable students, 2) centers local, democratic control of our schools and 3) a plan that provides tax relief to middle and working class Vermonters and makes the wealthiest Vermonters equitably invest in their community.
Please join us by taking action on February 11th. This toolkit provides three actions you can take: 1) send a letter, 2) ask others to take action, and 3) call your legislator.
1. Send a letter
Send a letter to our state representatives using our Action Network letter tool. While you’re at it, share the Action Network letter tool and call-in day Facebook Event page with your contacts.
2. Ask others to take action
Ask at least three colleagues, friends, family members to call or email their legislators, and share information to support them:
3. Call your legislators
Call your legislators on Tuesday February 11, and get three more people at your workplace or in your family to do the same. Please let us know when you make the call using this "I took action" tracker form, and encourage others to do the same. This helps us build our list of contacts for the next action!
