Mass hotel evictions impact students, families, and community members
The Education Justice Coalition says no to the mass hotel evictions of over 900 households occurring in Vermont. We reject an administration that knowingly throws vulnerable community members into the street. We say yes to a world where all students, families, and community members of any background or immigration status are housed in safe, affordable housing. We recognize the impact this mass eviction will have on unhoused student’s ability to show up ready to learn. We recognize the impact that this mass eviction will have on school communities as educators scramble to support their unhoused students.
Actions you can take:
Organize to build affordable housing in your community, such as the 20 unit apartment building being built in Greensboro.
Strengthen and build relationships with your fellow union members. Imagine a world in which all Vermont educators go on strike to stop a mass hotel eviction.
